Project Description
The Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities commissioned our project team to execute the development of detailed design guidelines and prescriptive requirements for enhancing the design quality and architectural identity for the United Arab Emirate’s capital city of Abu Dhabi. We were tasked to create a robust and comprehensive Architectural Identity Manual focused on a vision of enhancing the city image by creating a distinct architectural identity that expresses the culture and environmental conditions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The goal of the project was to establish a set of standards and guidelines to facilitate the design, regulation, and implementation of context-responsive architecture. The Architectural Identity Manual was developed around the following core objectives: Enhance the architectural image of Abu Dhabi, Enforce the architectural coherence of Abu Dhabi, and Capture the unique architectural identities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Meticulous facilitated and managed numerous workshops and meetings with the client stakeholder team to obtain historical data and visionary input in the creation of the manual.
